如果您不同意,行为不会改变

Behaviour will not change if you do not agree

I'm Aoi Hashima , an occupational therapist working in Saga Sumai and Fukuoka.

Healthcare today is different than in the past, and I think "informed consent" that provides adequate explanations to patients and their families and obtains their consent has become widespread.

I think there was a time when healthcare was like a one-way teacher-student relationship where you just did what the doctor said.

Nonetheless, there may be many in the medical, health, and welfare fields who feel that there is still a lack of adequate explanation and understanding of the subject's feelings.

Informed consent is

✔ Patients and their families fully understand the condition and treatment,

✔ Healthcare professionals share information with patients, families, healthcare professionals, social workers, care managers, etc., how they received patient/family intentions, various situations and explanations, what medical care to choose, etc.

✔ A process where everyone agrees

(From the Japan Nursing Association website).

I think post-stroke recovery should be done after consent has been obtained through the informed consent process.

Furthermore, self-training in order to manifest one's physical abilities in daily life requires "agreeing" and "persuading" an explanation before taking action.

"Consent" and "consent" are words used when choosing treatment or care, but they have different meanings.

It is known that through "persuading", "improving action" and "changing behavior".

This time, I want to write a blog with consent as the key word.

What is "satisfaction"

Regarding "persuasiveness", I would write what is listed in Kotobank .

□ Understand and accept the thoughts, actions, etc. of others.

□ Understand and swallow, understand and affirm

□ understands and feels comfortable with the thoughts and actions of others

Agree - Kotobank
Japanese Selection - Convincing Glossary - 名〙① Understanding and accepting the thoughts and actions of others. Swallows know. understand and affirm. Know. agree. * Rakugaki Roken (circa 1413) "This man was a samurai who could quickly understand the difference between poetry and renko." ② ⇒ Nodoku

When we understand the word "persuasion," we understand that it is "accepting what others think" and "understanding and affirming."

There is a lot of uncertainty in recovery and I don't think there is a 100% right answer or one that works for everyone.

I feel like "agree" and "satisfied" are similar in wording, but when medical staff are going to encourage patients to take an active part in treatment and recovery, the word "satisfied" is apt, and I feel like it's coming.

acceptance and behavior change

In order for patients to be able to use their paralyzed hands in their daily lives and to be able to actively participate in self-training, their behavior changes even when healthcare workers offer a one-sided explanation. I don't think so.

The informed consent process is important for patients to change their behavior in everyday life.

Various categories have been found to satisfy the results.

□ Improve execution

□ Mental stability

□ Satisfied

□ Build a relationship of trust

have been classified in previous studies.

Among them, "improving mobility" corresponds to changes in the patient's behavior.

The facilitation of implementation included the following (cited in reference 3):

✔ Improve execution ability

✔ Active response

✔ Promote desirable behavior

✔ Coping with changes in behavior

✔ do it yourself

✔ Makes you want to use it yourself

✔ Proactive assessment

✔ Use your ingenuity

✔ Apply

✔ Stronger willingness to return

✔ Development

After persuasion, the place to arrive is that the patient himself changes his behavior.

Obtaining consent includes deepening understanding and emotional acceptance, but it is important to establish two-way communication between the patient and medical staff.

In daily rehabilitation support, I want to establish two-way communication, so as not to intervene unilaterally, but to support the daily changes of patients as much as possible.
